our workshop is in the heart of Bright and always will be, off-shore is not an option.
I grew up in workrooms with mothers and grandmothers that know sewing.
From pop-up stalls to our current store Bright has always been our home. Being so close to the mountains is the original inspiration for the logo and created the desire to build a sustainable brand.
Our hoodies and tees are completely made within our store and cut in our home workspace. We keep them finished on the shelf and in component sections ready to finish to customers unique sizes. We make every effort to make sure even the smallest parts are made locally, from the cords and eyelets being locally produced in Melbourne!
The family Nana located in Lorne hand knits each beanie for Espire. She is paid correctly in guidance from the Textile union and is supplied everything she needs to be comfortable. Throughout the years knitting has been a strong connection from her generation to her grandson, helping really show how much love and work goes into creating something so soft n comfortable.
Our shirts are passed between two highly experienced work shops in Mansfield and Bright who have more experience between them than anyone else in Australia when it comes to sewing and technicality. These two women Jane and Jenny take the shirts after the initial parts are done in store and finish them to perfection!
How Australian are we? We strive to not only assure that our garments are made here, but everything we can possibly get made here even in production and fabrics. For example even the small metal eyelets on our hoodies are made in Melbourne along with the cord that goes through them. We found amazing partners all around Australia still producing the best quality local materials we needed.
Espire Clothing acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples..
